WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL: A CITY OF REFUGE

25  February, 2017 " 6 Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone may flee. In addition, give them forty-two other towns. 12  They will be places of refuge from the avenger, so that a person accused of murder may not die before he stands trial before the assembly. 13 These six towns you give will be your cities of refuge. 15 These six towns will be a place of refuge for Israelites, aliens and any other people living among them, so that anyone who has killed another accidentally can flee there.” Numbers 35 Often times I wish someone can recognise how bad I am hurting on the inside when I try to hide it. Most times you just want to be buried in the arms of someone, a brother, sister, a friend or your spouse, not because it solves your entire problem but because you feel safe with them.

LEAVE BBNAIJA ALONE

All social media platforms are agog with anti-protests of Big Brother Naija reality show using the hash tags #BBN and #BBNaija, because of what people sum up as immoral acts. Although the show features Nigerians the location is sited in South Africa where it’s being broadcast. I heard and read a lot had been happening on the show: drunkenness, sexually explicit scenes and other vices. The recent voice of opposition is from Nigerian Senators who are petitioning the house to pass a law that would stop the show from being aired. I have also seen an online petition canvassing for signatures so the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission would place a ban on the show. Where does the Christian stand in all this?

Being Open To God: Incredible First Person Account Of Woman Caught Up In Florida Airport Shooting

This article was originally published on  Christian Today I was in the terminal at the Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida last Friday when five people were killed by a deranged gunman. Some would say I was at the wrong place at the wrong time, but I’m not so sure. To be honest, I wasn’t even scheduled to be there at that time. I was only there that day because I had missed my earlier flight. If I’d had my way, I would have been long gone on the noon flight to JFK that I had purchased two months earlier and then off to London later that evening. I would have gone my merry way and later told stories about how my flight took off an hour before tragedy struck, how blessed I was to have missed it all, and wasn’t God good to have spared me the trauma of not one, but two terminal evacuations, and the drama of spending all day on lockdown in terminal two with hundreds of other stranded passengers. WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL: Love Greater Than What You Know

And this is my prayer, that your love will keep on growing more and more with full knowledge and insight, so that you may be able to choose what is best and be pure and blameless until the day when the Messiah returns. Philippians 1:9-10 18 February, 2017 The knowledge of scripture and its interpretations had not only divided Christians but also set us against each other. One denomination against another with criticisms, as preaching of hate spew from the pews of the church congregation, because of doctrinal differences. Aside that, the ones we are guilty of individually, when we disagree with a brother or sister because of our new knowledge or insight. Do you realize that most bible scholars or knowledgeable preachers are often those that demonstrate little or no love at all?

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL: PATH TO FAILURE

11 February, 2017 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother. But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the Lord hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way. Neither shall he multiply wives to himself. Deuteronomy 17:15-17 Perhaps one of the greatest mysteries about failure is seeing a man who has all it takes but his unable to succeed. What is it about failure humans are yet to learn? If Wisdom alone does not guarantee success and failure is not the absence of wisdom? What is responsible for failure when at some point in our lives we thought our plans were Failure-Proof? Solomon, a king endowed with wisdom and great riches, in his life time he spoke many wise words and gave counsel to kings.

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL: Journey to Plenty

04   February, 2017 “ He led you through the vast and dreadful desert, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. 16 He gave you manna to eat in the desert, something your fathers had never known, to humble and to test you so that in the end it might go well with you. 17 You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me."  Deut 8:15-17 Your history may be filled with pain and tears. Years you questioned if God exists. Why do we go through tough situations? It is true we do not always know what God is doing, sometimes he doesn’t tell us what he is up to. Sometimes he does, but it doesn’t stop us from panicking. There is a great lesson to be learned from the Israelite's journey across the wilderness.

TRUE STORY: Diary Of A Black Male Teen 4

CHAPTER FOUR (The Voyeur's Path ) But the night sky also revealed my dark desires, a twisted side of my quiet and innocent side I couldn't tell any of my friends I was still a virgin. I wouldn't survive that mockery and if i did, I would lose the feeling of belonging and my only source of answers as well. If you've blazed the trail of teenage years, you would understand. You know it’s not just me, it’s not a male thing. It’s the status quo. You know it without seeing it. I often cook up dumb stories to sound hard core but I’ll avoid being explicit because i still lacked knowledge of the chemistry of sex and human sex organs. This trying time as I count them to you Diary, brings tears down my cheeks. If only someone was there, if my mom had seen the invisible lines and if my dad wasn't only interested in discipline but my body too.
